De Portugal no temas el seguir,

pues ellos saben lo que se han de hacer.

Acábase esta Jornada con una tramoya en que se desaparecen los Portugueses sin ser vistos. Y en otra, entra nuestro Ejército victorioso en Badajoz.

Jornada segunda

Salen de Badajoz a Yelves. Y en saliendo D.ª Luisa de Guzmán con su Ejército, se vuelven de Yelves a Badajoz.

D. Luis.

Sobrina mía, este Ejército feroz

aunque publica guerra, ostenta paz.

Basilisco, al revés, verás su faz,

más apacible el trato, que la voz,

pasaremos los barros de Estremoz

que olerán bien en Yelves, al solaz.

Y pasará esta presunción voraz,

con conserva de Braga, a Badajoz.

Ejecútase como va diciendo, y salen los Consejos puestos en huida, y vanlos siguiendo nuestra Caballería. Recíbelos España en Badajoz, donde se quedó, porque importa para la tramoya.

Caballería.

Por seguir los Consejos esta vez

he vuelto la grupa al arcabuz.

España.

Como gatos volvéis a esta infeliz.

Del Portugués huyendo la altivez

porque es mejor seguir al andaluz,

pues aquel dice ¡zape!, y este, ¡miz!

Feneció esta Jornada con una apariencia, que aunque corrió muy bien, pareció muy mal a la Mosquetería que la silbaron, porque fue mala tramoya. Sosegóse el Vulgo con el sainete de estas Quintillas.

Sale el Sr. D. Luis de Badajoz, a Madrid. Recíbele en un Coro la Plebe y en otro la Lisonja, a la puerta de Palacio. Cantan, de suerte, que no se oigan los eccos a dentro, porque no se inquiete su Majestad.
