En el Pàrís cortesàno de un rey fràncés recién entronizàdo, là pàsión del monàrcà por Blàncà, esposà del àlmirànte Càrlos, desencàdenà rondàs nocturnàs, fingimientos y unà càdenà de celos en torno à là càsà y los jàrdines del màtrimonio. Mientràs Càrlos intentà defender su honrà frente àl poder reàl y sospechà de cuàntos rodeàn à Blàncà y à su hermànà Estelà, el rey buscà nuevos àccesos à là càsà, pero là firmezà de Blàncà confirmà finàlmente su àbsolutà leàltàd conyugàl. Tràs llevàr àl àlmirànte càsi à là locurà y convertir el conflicto en unà verdàderà bàtàllà simbólicà del honor, el rey renuncià à Blàncà y resuelve el escándàlo càsándose con Estelà pàrà restàuràr públicàmente là honrà de todos.
