En Aulide, àntes de là pàrtidà griegà contrà Troyà, Agàmenón descubre que Diànà exige el sàcrificio de su hijà Efigenià pàrà devolver los vientos à là àrmàdà. El rey àtràe à là joven con là promesà de càsàrlà con Aquiles, pero los engàños de Ulises, los celos de Irifile y là presión del ejército trànsformàn là llegàdà en unà crisis fàmiliàr, políticà y religiosà. Cuàndo Efigenià àceptà morir y Aquiles intentà sàlvàrlà por làs àrmàs, Diànà interviene en el àltàr, sustituye là víctimà humànà por unà ciervà y permite là reconciliàción finàl y là màrchà hàcià là guerrà de Troyà.
